The Clissold Arms
The Clissold Arms has seen a change in the ownership and has prepared Muswell Hill to re-open its doors after a period of six months due to renovation to the public. Jake Young of Bodeguita del Medio (Kensington) standing takes on the task of head chef. His culinary centre of attention is on well-priced seasonal British food. Starters consist of salad of baby beet and ham hock & parsley terrine with toasted sourdough and homemade piccalilli. Mains take in ale and maple braised short rib of beef, and fillet of wild seabass.

LEON
Leon is a very budget-friendly place for all and it's a beautiful location in Canary Wharf. They are proud to have their franchise's 10th addition that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can desire for a nutritious bowl of organic porridge and hot bacon wraps for brekkie; Morroccan meatballs, grilled free-range chicken and roasted sweet potato falafel for lunch; or chargrilled chorizo and sesame chicken wings for supper. The food found on the menu is mainly organic and Fairtrade.

The National Dining Rooms
The National Dining Rooms are known for being proud propagator of the praises of food from Britain's regions. In honour of St. David, St. Patrick and St. George, The National Dining Rooms executive chef, Shaun Gillmore has skilfully developed versions of much-loved traditional dishes. Each of the 3 exclusive Patron Saint menus showcases the finest produce that England, Ireland and Wales have to recommend.

The Mercer
This is a very refined eatery has opened its doors in the city. British classics like dry-aged Aberdeenshire sirloin and fillet steaks, whole roast game birds, and potted ham hock are all on the menu at The Mercer. Have a drink from a wine list of over 250 specially chosen varieties; Jason Capper - formerly at Fifth View Bar - has whipped up a drinks list for serious cocktail lovers. Beautifully British interiors include oak floors and leather banquettes.

BenugoFeel like having freshly baked muffins, pastries, and deli sandwiches at the brand new Benugo at St Pancras International. The New York-style cafe is the latest addition to welcome you off the Eurostar. This is the 20th London branch of the deli chain, recognised for its eco-friendly practices.

Zebran
The late-night bar will be housed in the site of former private members' bar The Establishment. Mixologist Chris Sheldon has created a cocktail list that adds a modern twist to classic drinks. The food menu is a worldy mix of Mediterranean and Asian dishes.

Tom's Place
Tom Aikens has opened an eco-friendly fish restaurant in Chelsea. The posh chippie will educate people on where fish comes from and which fish are safe to eat. The fish on sale at Tom's Place are mostly line-caught and sustain ably sourced. You can enjoy your traditional fish and chips you'll find moules marinières, bouillabaisse, fish and potato pie, and spaghetti alla vongole on the paperless menu (aka blackboard). There's home-ade ice cream too, coming in coffee, pistachio, orange marmalade, banana, caramel, vanilla, raspberry and dark chocolate flavours.

Private Dining Room at Gilgamesh
Gilgamesh is an excellent place for dining. Create your celebration with some high class guests in the new private dining room. Malay noodles with lobster, grilled wagyu with spicy ponzu and truffle and steamed halibut with black beans and mushroom tempura can be your treats to choose from the menu. Only the Canal Market was affected in the Camden Fire in February 2008 and luckily Gilgamesh was saved. The other areas of Camden are also open for business.

The Water House
Arthur Potts Dawson's second eco-wonderland arrives in Shoreditch. The canal side Water House uses renewable hydro-electric power, thus reducing carbon emissions. They use the canal to control the restaurant's temperature, roof-top solar panels provide hot water, and filtered bottled water is produced on site. Nearby locally bought food is fully organic and the worms in the wormery will eat up the raw food waste. The Water House will even train local people in eco-friendly practices in the restaurant trade. It gets only this greener here!

Cuckoo Club Tasting Menu
Treat yourself by taking your friends and family to the delectable Cuckoo Club but remember to take that credit card. Taste away and build your appetite especially in the month of February and relish the tasting menu. The head chef Fernando Stovell has crafted and presented the spread and concept. It is difficult to give away the whole 6-course list but the caramelised scallops with spicy chorizo and truffle and walnut dressing were a winner on our visit. The menu is available for up to 6 diners and includes optional wine pairing.

Almeida
Islington's Almeida Restaurant and bar has opened again. New dishes on the modern French menu consist of ballotine of duck foie gras with port jelly and sour dough, steamed halibut with young spinach and langoustine velouté, and fillet of angus beef à la bordelaise.

Foxtrot Oscar
Chelsea bistro Foxtrot Oscar makes a reception at the welcoming to the neighbourhood. The restaurant has been refurbished and the menu reorganised by none other than Gordon Ramsay. Dishes will be according to seasonality. You can relish tartare, Foxtrot fishcakes and home-made pie of the day on the opening menu.

Urban Turban
Vineet Bhatia is the chef and owner of Michelin-starred Rasoi in Chelsea. The newest launched restaurant Westbourne Grove's Urban Turban offers tapas-style Indian food. Stir-fried chilli cauliflower in soya sauce and spring onion, and Bhalla Chaat (yoghurt and tamarind chutney topped lentil dumplings) are both delicious preparations. You could also get involved in the Volcanic Rock Grill Platter for 2 where you can cook scallop, prawn, swordfish, lamb rolls and chicken tikka on hot volcanic stones at your table. Lower ground floor and private dining are latest features.

Upper Deck
The London Transport Museum has reopened after a £22m redesign project. With it comes the launch of its new café, Upper Deck. You can eat in the café (which overlooks Covent Garden Piazza) from morning til night. Brunch options include pancakes with Maple Syrup and eggs Florentine. Or visit in the evening for a transport-themed cocktail or two.

Sake No Hana
We've all been holding our breath for the arrival of restaurateur Alan Yau's latest restaurant. The man responsible for Hakkasan,Yauctcha and Wagamama has finally opened Sake No Hana, a very polished Japanese restaurant in St James's. Architect Kengo Kuma has created the interiors on traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Exposed beam timber and raised dining platforms feature in the space which was formerly Shumi restaurant. Prices range from £2 tempura including mountain yam, asparagus and baby aubergine to white truffle rice, with toasted nori and Wagyu Mushi Shabu beef priced at £70 each.

The Establishment
A very British restaurant has opened in Parsons Green. The Establishment is representation on 1970s England with retro brown and cream interior and wallpaper. Head chef is Karl MacEwan (previously at Michelin-starred restaurant, The Glass house. The seasonal menu launches with braised cheek of beef with mashed potato, curly kale and glazed carrots, and pork belly with celeriac gratin, black pudding and cider braised onions. The bar is also famous for its own English bull terrier named Buster.

The Loft
The Loft has been launched by brothers in charge for the award-winning Plan B bar in Brixton and The Legion in Shoreditch who now have returned. Cocktails are a speciality here with over 50 different creations including drinks paying homage to some of the world's top mixologists. New inventions include Fig Leaf Surprise - 42 Below passion fruit vodka shaken with home-made stewed rhubarb, fig and Earl Grey tea sugar syrup and lemon juice. The food's good too! Head chef is Marianna Witt who used to work at Michelin-starred The Glasshouse and Fishworks.
